Just wanted to ask everybody not to give up on me. We're about to move our computer/office area around and I'll be off line for an undetermined amount of time. Withdrawal, anyone? What am I going to do with out the internet? Ack!

Day 26

I'll confess. Not taken today or yesterday even but I did just edit it. Fun stuff, reminds of that sun I keep harping on.

Day 25

A real Meri smile! Must be because the rain finally went away and Mr. Sun came out.

Day 24

Total fluke here. We have down cushions on our couch and my oldest "found a feather" - gets them excited every time. Kinda annoys me but I'm glad they can enjoy the molting furniture. So I asked her if she wanted me to take a picture and voila! She thought it was pretty cool, got to make that black box fun you know?

Day 23

My nemesis. Junk food. I was inspired to try out this really fabulous lens dh got me that I haven't really used to it's fullest. It's a 60mm micro. I mainly use it for portraits as I'm not very creative in the macro field, maybe once flowers get into boom. Anyway, I stepped out onto the deck with some dried blueberries and a antique silver spoon. Came back in to find cheezits all over the floor. The one thing of junk food in the house and they find it and dump it. Sigh... so I snapped a picture. And I like it better than my healthy berry pictures, double whammy!

Day 22

This was taken on my covered front porch. It's an old house so we have these wide stone walls with ledges, this is where my gutters leak! It's been raining so hard this quite the little waterpark.

Day 21

Again with the rain. Potted daffodils in front of a rainy grey window. Will the sun ever come back?

Day 20

The area formally known as my front yard. Splash, those are some deep puddles. It was getting dark so I couldn't capture this to it's fullest but I love that huge wave.

day 19

Yuck! Nothing but rain. Love my cheery umbrella though, it's a good thing(literally - form marthastewart.com!) lol! I am soo ready for the rain to go away it makes me feel so blah!

Day 18

Not the best picture, I know but... this was taken using my lights! Very excited that I figured out how to set them up and turn them on. It's also funny how some skills can be transferred, like I've heard how difficult it can be to put light boxes together but it was just like setting a tent up, just thought that was amusing! I had to use my on camera flash to trigger them so it does look "flashy" I think I need to order a hot shoe adapter? I'm super excited, time to break out my lighting book and figure out how to use them correctly!

Day 17

She was posing for me, got my stand up in my "studio", checking light and dimensions out (not so good). Really she was just playing but when I looked at these I saw what could be. A teenager with no desire to be around me, a young women that doesn't care what I think. I tend to over analyze things(you think?) and we are in the midst of thinking about kindergarten and what we are going to do for school. I am struck with the fear that how I school her and guide her in the coming years will shape who she becomes. Parenting is scary sometimes - but then it is just a pink plastic phone!

Day 16

Tea party. Just happened to catch the festivities before they were destroyed.

Monday, January 15, 2007

Day 15

Hmm, I decided I liked this one better! Still too plastic?

Somebody got a new haircut. Very dark and grainy so I noisewared it. Now it looks plasticky, better luck next time. I need to buy a better program, all I have is a trial version!

Day 14

I can make a rainbow, make a rainbow, make a rainbow too...

Thanks!

Wow, thank you guys so much. It's enough to make a girl blush. I have to laugh though, as fellow photographers, I would think you would know that it's all about the posing angles, lighting and pping! If you saw me in my SAHM mode you probally wouldn't even recognize me!
I was out of town this weekend so I'm going to have to play catch up with my picture posts. Sorry about that!

I really don't know what's up with my bw kick. Maybe b/c I can't get my conversions how I want them? Just a little after bath story, i love how her little feet are cossed!

So from now on my pictures will all be from the day before but it'll still be a picture a day. Working on back lighting here, love it! I realize it might break some rules but it just takes my breath away. This is my oldest, she'll be 4 next month and to catch her looking so angelic is well, let's just say not usual. She's a fireball.

Day 8

So I'm what, 8 days delayed in getting this started. Does this mean I'll forever be behind? I was very frustrated with this shoot, trying to get some good puddle action and I kept missing my focus. Even this one the focus fell on the back book, I think I should have closed up some to give myself a wider focal plane. But the goal Iam setting myself is to do a shoot and find something to post out of that. No going back and redoing.
